Brian McCall reports from the kayak angling scene where pike are on the quarry list…
On a day where most stayed in bed Irish Kayak Pike Angler David O’Donovan ( @davyod ) decide to brave the blustery conditions in Monaghan and after a little 1 hour 20 minute drive he was rewarded with 3 pike for 35lb.
All fish took a simple rig of a float trolled mackerel and weighed in at 3lb, 14lb & 18lb respectively!
Having the whole lake to himself, Dave didn’t care as he said “you wont catch anything staring at your gear in the shed!”
