Brendan Jervis reports on the Newbridge and District Pike Anglers Winder Cup fished in the North East of the country last weekend…

26 February: We had 18 members out yesterday for the Winder Cup. Fishing was very slow with strong easterlies all day. All members decided to set out deadbeats for the day as it was so cold on the lake. The weather itself was beautiful; sun was shining for most of the day but the pike just weren’t feeding well. There were a few nice fish lost,  and some nice fish where landed. We had 11 pike caught and released. the biggest was 22lb 10oz and there were 3 other double.
