Angling Guide, Wild Brown Trout, Salmon
Mount Juliet House is set on a large estate, which offers private fishing on 2.5 miles of the middle to lower reaches of the River Nore. Mount Juliet Estate offers fishing of the highest quality, just a short stroll away from the Manor House. There is a fishing room on site in the Manor House for your convenience i.e. for storage and drying of fishing equipment. Mount Juliet Estate can also provide the necessary equipment on site if needed.
Dan O’Neill is the Fishery Manager and is an avid fly angler with great enthusiasm and passion for his sport. He has a wealth of experience of fishing on the fabulous River Nore. Dan can arrange salmon and trout fishing trips and can offer great advice and local knowledge to anglers wishing to visit the Nore and other rivers in the south east.
Fly Casting Instruction
Dan is an AGPAI Ireland qualified single handed casting instructor. He will be happy to arrange casting lessons on the fishery.
Tackle Hire
Fishing equipment and flies/bait can all be supplied.
Dan is also an accomplished fly tyer and has a number of patterns of his own which regularly bring him success which he would be happy to share with you.
Coarse fishing
Coarse fishing can also be arranged with Dan.

Notes: Paddy is a very keen Game Angler for wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon on rivers of Ireland. He is a certified OCN level 3 Qualified Guide, Fly Tying and Fly casting instructor.
Paddy specializes in Fly fishing and tying flies for Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout, Rainbow Trout and Salmon he offers fly tying and casting demonstration to groups and clubs across the country.
He also gives Fly Tying and Fly Casting classes and will work on a one to one basis with anyone that wishes to improve their angling skills or indeed take up the sport of angling.

Angling Guide
Notes: Peter Cunningham has 30 years experience on the River Boyne fishing for salmon and sea-trout with fly and shrimp. He also has a great knowledge of wild brown trout fishing on the Boyne in all of its forms with particular emphasis on nymphs and dry fly fishing with mayfly and sedge. Peter’s home waters are on the historic River Boyne but he also has years of fishing experience on the north easts’ Dee, Fane and Glyde rivers.
Peter can also provide assistance with lough style fishing for wild brown trout on Lough Sheelin and Lough Corrib.
Peter also provides shore fishing for bass and other species in the north east and has assisted many anglers in catching their very first sea bass.

Peter Driver is a qualified casting instructor with APAGI, and advanced qualified fly dresser with APAGI. He specialises in competition nymphs and fishing, Irish lake flies, streamers and lures.
As a qualified casting instructor with APAGI I Peter offers casting clinic’s and lessons, to suit your desires. Being able to cast correctly and have a good understanding of the mechanics of casting is a solid foundation in fly fishing that will pay off in your fishing, be it rivers or lakes.

Notes: Specially designed and commissioned and purpose built for Deep Sea Angling. Wreck fishing and general ground angling will produce excellent mixed catches of conger, ling, pollock, coalfish and cod. Shark fishing will provide good sport with catches of up to 100lbs during summer months. Rod and tackle hire available.
Bass fishing
Boat based guided bass fishing is also available. Our Whaley Boat, Wild Horses, is also available for expert bass fishing tutorials by a local guide. These are licensed for 8 persons. They are equipped with all latest safety and navigational equipment on board. Ideal for shallow water and exploring the bays and shore. Wild Horses is powered by a Suzuki 60hp engine giving a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Angling takes place on over 10aces of water on 3 different lakes. Southern County Fishing Resort encourages both fly fishing and bait fishing but be mindful that each lake requires different fishing skills and provides different challenges to the angler. Also our newly opened club house accommodates a tackle shop for all your fly, bait, rod hire and sale. Southern County Fishing Resort prides itself on the quality of our fish, our lake are stocked on regular basis with fish approximately 2lbs weight. All of our fish are reared in our onsite hatchery farm. Fish size range from 1 lb to 8 lbs in weight and on average are 3 /4lbs.
