The Zetland Hotel owns the freehold and controls the Gowla & Athry Fisheries in their entirety. Accommodation at the Zetland Hotel is of the highest standard, and angling guests are assured of the utmost care and personal attention. Angling guests will receive a reduction in rod rates, if staying at the Zetland Hotel.

Salmon licences are available in house.

The Gowla Fishery

The Gowla is one of the best Sea Trout Fisheries in the West of Ireland, and consists of two chains of Loughs, which are drained by the Owengowla River. The Gowla River is three and a half miles in length, and has four beats which accommodate eight rods.

The beats are close to two roadways. The Gowla River can provide excellent sea trout and salmon fishing, from mid June onwards.

Gowla Lough is famous for its stock of sea trout & salmon from late June onwards. The lough has three boats which accommodate two rods each. There is a lunch shelter with cooking facilities beside the car park on the loughs shore.

Mannions Lough, situated on the west branch of the system is renowned for its sea trout stocks and can give excellent fishing from late June onwards. There is one boat for two rods on the lough.

Above Gowla Lough there are three loughs known as Redman’s Lough, White’s Lough and Lough Annillaun. All three are excellent sea trout waters, which are serviced, with a boat each to accommodate six rods in total.

The Athry Fishery

The fishery consists of 7 lakes including a lake stocked with rainbow trout. This fishery also contains sea trout & Salmon. There are 6 boats available. Please ask for details.
