Ghillie/Guide Vincent Appleby reports on the last days of the sea trout fishing season in the past week on the Lough Currane system from his blog at http://wwwsalmonandseatroutphotos.blogspot.com/

9/10/12 Enrico. from Italy fishing with his ghillie Mr. Neil O‘Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught a Junior; Neil was telling me that they lost a good Sea Trout this morning, and just for the record there was the odd Junior caught by other anglers, wind was all over the place, light too calm and south this evening.

10/10/12 There were a few boats manipulating the their flies, but there was only one angler who reported their catches and releases, and that was Mr. Phil Stanefort, who caught 8 Trout, while fishing with his ghillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com ;it was overcast with rain in the afternoon.

11/10/12 All quiet on the SW Front.

12/10/12 There were just a few Juniors caught but too be fair my noble anglers it was cold out there with heavy showers with a mixture of hailstones, Wind NW light too fresh, but with all that Mr. Jim Sayers and his son, in the last 3 days caught 20 sea trout ranging from Juniors up to 3 lb. and they also rose a few good ones, and last but not least, Mr. Carey, of Spencer Iowa USA, fishing with his ghillie Mr. Vincent Appleby and of www.salmonandseatrout.com caught 2 sea trout;  now we head to the lobster Bar for the W.F.D.G Draw for the Toyota Aygo Car, and the winner was Mr. Liam Musgrave of Caherciveen;

Well its time to close 2012 Salmon and Sea Trout Season, and on a personal note, I would like to thank all the team of the Inland Fisheries and of www.fisheriesireland.ie for their help this season and as they do every season, and last but not least to you, the Anglers for taking your time to read the Waterville Fishery Notes, I hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I did writing them, so on that note I close this 2012 Season and I look forward to seeing you on January 17th 2013.  That is your ration for this Season, from your Ghillie/Guide and the Waterville fishery. No Spin No Fly’s just facts.
