Matt Campbell reports that sea trout fishing has been a bit “hit and miss” on the Castletown River in Dundalk due to the fluctuating water conditions. Water levels have been up and down over the last few weeks and although some sea trout have been caught there has been no consistency in the fishing. The usual high volumes of anglers have not been out due to the unsuitable conditions. It is hoped that things will improve if the weather becomes more stable over the next few weeks but things are not looking good for the rest of this week.

On the positive side, Matt reports that wild brown trout fishing has improved greatly on the River Fane since the drop in water levels and some nice trout have been taken recently.
