Angling guide and ghillie, Vincent Appleby reports on the latest fishing reports from Lough Currane.
20/2/12 UK Angler, Mr. Mark Knowles, fishing with his Ghillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy, caught the first Salmon on the fly and a cracker of a fish it was weighing in at 10 lb., and Mark was telling me that he had one hell of a battle with my Noble Salmon and we know who won, so congratulations to Mark and his Gillie. Wind SW light to fresh and overcast with light rain at times.
21/2/12 All quiet on the SW front Except for the 0dd Kelt being caught.
22/2/12 All the head lines go to Mr. Mark Knowles of the UK and for good he caught a lightening fresh 6 lb salmon on the fly, as always Mark was with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy. Wind SW light to fresh and overcast with light misty rain, and just for the record it made a small flood early this morning.
23/2/12 There was a fine 6 lb. Salmon caught on the troll by Local Gillie, Mr. Bob Priestly, and if a ever an Angler deserved my Noble gentlemen the Salmon Bob did, and the reason I say this is because Bob was telling me that he has caught 46 Kelts this season, that’s some going. Wind SW light to fresh and overcast with light misty rain.
24/2/12 All quiet on the SW front, except for a few Kelts being caught. Wind NE light to calm.
25/2/12 There were a few boats out, and all failed in their duties procuring my Noble Gentlemen the Salmon. Wind west light with light misty rain at times.
26/2/12 Same results s yesterday except for a couple of Kelts being caught. Wind S and overcast with light misty rain for most of the day. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie/Guide and the Waterville fishery.
27/2/12
All quiet on the SW front in all departments except for one or two Kelts being caught. Wind SW light to calm.
28/2/12
All quiet in all departments, but to be fair to my Noble Fly Anglers, there was little to no wind and what wind was there was coming from the South.
No Spin No Fly’s just facts.
