David McEvoy reports on Delphi:
24/09/12: Salmon have become a little more co-operative in the last 10 days with 11 fish landed since my last update. Sea trout on the other hand have been proving difficult.
Edward Westropp got last week off to a quick start with a fish off Doolough on Sunday morning of approx. 2.5lbs on a Willie Gunn.
Jack Browne from Dublin was on the record sheet again, with three fish landed. His first was on Sunday afternoon off Finlough of 8lbs12ozs on a Delphi Collie. His second was on Tuesday off Finlough again of 4lbs3ozs on a Silver Stoat and finally his third fish on Friday again off Finlough of 5lbs10ozs on a Delphi Collie.
Paul Sims also managed two fish, both from Finlough and both on Willie Gunns. They weighed in at 3lbs11.5ozs and 4lbs1oz respectively.
Messrs Corps and Shortt did rather well yesterday with five fish off the Turn pool. Mark had four, one of 5lbs10ozs on a weighted Prawn fly, one of 5.5lbs approx. on the Prawn fly, one of 9lbs approx. on aTara and finally the fourth of 5.5lbs approx. on a Prawn fly.
Mike Shortt then had one of 9lbs1oz from the Turn pool on a beaded nymph.
With 28.9mm of rain last night Mark Corps managed to land a fish of 4lbs2.5ozs this morning from the stream on a Collie Dog.
Sea trout fishing was disappointing with only 20 landed since my last update.
My next update will probably be at beginning of October to give totals for what has been a sometimes difficult angling season.
