Gerry Malone and his son Tom from Dublin had a day’s piking with Mal Mcleod of Gate Lodge Angling. They stayed with Geraldine at the lodge on Friday and fished with Mal on one of the local lakes on Saturday with a 9 am start. The weather was inclement to say the least with heavy showers and blustery north winds.
The father and son team still managed to winkle out 4 pike the best being 6lb. This was Tom’s first ever pike.
Gerry sent me a lovely text afterwards to thank me for the experience and to tell me his son is now hooked .
The pair hope to return soon for some more action.
