Not many anglers have braved the cold and fished the Rye Lake in the last week. However anyone considering fishing in the next few days could find themselves with pretty much ideal conditions with the water clarity improving after recent floods (the Rye Lake almost certainly fishes better when water levels are normal and water clarity is good).
Both dead baiting and lures are equally effective, barbs on lures should be removed / squashed down.
Tickets / permits should be purchased at the hotel main reception prior to fishing. Parking is at the boathouse on the lake. Please respect the wishes of golfers and stay off greens and Tee areas as they can become badly cut up when fishing activity takes place on them.
