The Pikefly International Fishing Competition was set up in 1998 to promote Pike angling on Lough Derg. The competition was set up to support an already successful International Pike Angling Challange and to allow for an alternative type of fishing.
The competition takes place 21 September and the boats will leave from the Tourist Office on the Bridge at Killaloe, Co. Clare. Anglers can fish from their own boat (registration only) for €30 or a registration and boat cost €50
The closing date for entries is 19 September.
This year €500 and a fish finder is up for grabs for the angler who finishes in first place and there are plenty of other prizes too.
