John Chambers, IFPAC, reports on the All Ireland Inter Club Team Championship…

The 2013 All Ireland Inter Club Team Champions are the Slovakia Angling Club. All team members caught pretty well and they pipped Newbridge A by 3 lbs 14 ozs. In third place were last years runners up Ardee “Blow ins”. 27 teams entered.

The competition was fished in the Cavan/Monaghan area, the rivers were a little high but the water was pretty clear. We had rain all day. Some nice pike were caught including 8 doubles to 18 lbs 5 ozs (Stephen Martin).

As well as winning the top individual angler prize Eugene McCabe caught a fine double figure pike of 17lb 6oz

While I hadn’t intended fishing the event I got roped in fishing for one of the Ardee teams. After a slow start I nabbed 5 pike with the best weighing in at 12-08 and what a fight she put up.
