The River Lee has been very low recently and with the continuous bright weather the best chance of a fish was always going to be early morning or late evening. Local anglers are eking out a few fish but the going is very hard. One angler caught his personal best on Saturday, 20 July, a salmon of 13lb.

As mentioned already the weather conditions for salmon fishing have been incredibly challenging recently with water temperatures rising due to the heatwave. These hot conditions don’t help the salmon fisherman with fish becoming unobliging to take however the lucky angler struck silver at dusk and battled the fish for up to ten minutes before it was landed.
