The Laune still has good fishing water and on Monday was reading 1.5 feet on the gauge at Johnston’s lovely water for all methods. A good few fish encountered during the week and over the weekend when the angling effort was up. Billy Cotter had the fish of the week a beauty of 14.5 lbs at Johnston’s on bank holiday Monday.
Even with the relatively low water fish will still run the river the trick is to get one to grab a fly or bait as they do!!!
Prospects
For the the coming week, some people like this height of water it is easier to cover pools with all methods and it slows the ascent of the fish up the river giving anglers a better chance of an encounter.
