Eileen Carroll reports that 3 salmon were landed on the Ilen Riveron the week ending 21 July. The best was 7lbs fish taken on shrimp by a Cork syndicate member. 8 fish landed for the week ending 28 July, best 8.5lb by a club angler on worms.

The River Ilen found in beautiful West Cork with its source 500 metres up on Mullaghmesha mountain North-West of Drimoleague and flows for about 33 kilometres southwards through the town of Skibbereen to the sea at Baltimore and the islands of Sherkin and Cape Clear. Day tickets are available for the River Ilen from the River Ilen Anglers Club
