Despite having a few quiet days towards the latter part of the week when effort was low at the fishery, anglers at Ballisodare still enjoyed good sport, with a total 86 salmon landed. Many of these were taken on the fly and safely released.
Monday got the week to a good start with 27 salmon caught, 16 of those released, with the majority taken on fly and prawn. Another good day on Tuesday when a further 20 were caught, ranging in size from 2lbs to 6lbs. Ten were caught the following day, with five falling to the worm, five to the fly.
Thursday was a very slow day with few anglers fishing, however, Michael Breslin landed a nice fish of 8lbs on fly. Again, few people fished on Friday, with only 5 fish recorded, mainly caught on worm. Ten were caught on Saturday, including some nice fish weighing 8lbs, 7lbs and 6lbs, mostly on worm and fly. Sunday was another quiet day with only four fish caught, two of which were released, with all being caught on the fly.
