Ghillie Vincent Appleby reports on the salmon and sea trout fishing in the past week on Lough Currane:
28/2/13 All quiet on the SW front after yesterday’s excitement with Michael O’Sullivan’s magnificent 20lb Salmon.
1/3/13 The same results as yesterday, and just for the record Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville boats and of [email protected] won the Inland fisheries fish of the Week.
2/3/13 Very few boats out manipulating, which was surprising after the results of the last few days and as they say, come on down and get those reels singing their national anthem. Wind E moderate and variable.
3/3/13 All quiet on the SW front in all departments.
4/3/13 There were a few boats manipulating but alas they failed miserably in their duties in all departments, and just for the record the lake has dropped a good bit due to the easterlies winds, so a drop of rain wouldn’t do any harm.
5/3/13 Again my Noble Anglers failed in all departments. Wind ESE and overcast with light rain this evening.
6/3/13 No reports of any real rod benders, wind ESE fresh and overcast, there were a few Kelts caught on the troll in the past week. That is your ration for this week, from your Gillie and the Waterville Fishery, no spin no fly’s just facts.
