Ghillie/Guide Vincent Appleby reports on the salmon and sea trout fishing in the past week on the Lough Currane system from his blog at http://wwwsalmonandseatroutphotos.blogspot.com/

/08/2013: Lough Currane was on the quiet side. So we will head across the Valley to the River Inny, where our Chairmen Mr. Michael Rodin, caught a fine Grilse, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Junior Scully,

/08/2013: Straight to the backdate department. On the 15/8/13 a Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com caught 2 Grilse on the fly, and also in good form was UK angler Mr. Ken Toner, who caught a 8 lbs. Salmon on the fly, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan of www.vincentsfishing.com and on a personal note I would like to apologise to all you Salmon and Sea Trout readers for this delay. Now back to the present. All the headlines go to fly department, Mr. Ian McMullan of Co Wicklow, fishing out of www.butlerarms.com caught 2 Salmon on the fly, ranging from 4 lbs. up to 6 lbs and contacted a few, but alas they escaped the mercy of the Gillie’s Priest. Ian’s Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com was also telling me that Ian, rose a good few Sea Trout. Now to the trolling department. Mr. Jeremy O’Connor caught a 6 lbs. grilse on the troll, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Wind SW fresh to strong at times, with reasonable cloud cover.

/08/2013: UK Angler, Mr. Paul Asque, caught 2 Trout, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and just for the record there were a few boats manipulating, and they all failed miserably in their angling duties. Wind WSW light with reasonable cloud cover.

/08/2013: The Waterville Fishery was on the quiet side, even though there were a few boats manipulating and as they didn’t report any of their catches, I presume they failed miserably in their duties. On that note we head for the Charlie Chaplin Film Festival 2013 of  http://chaplinfilmfestival.com/waterville/ To all you Video angling enthusiasts’ you won’t want to miss the Sea to Stream video, times of showing are, Thursday 22nd in St. Michaels at 5 pm. 22/08/2013: There were 2 Juniors caught on the drift by Mr. David Burton, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com and just for the record, Tom was telling me that there were about 6 boats manipulating, and going by phone, I am like Manuel of Faulty Towers, I know nothing. Wind W then veered SE light with reasonable cloud cover.
