Friday Feb 15th: The last couple of days have offered a welcome respite from the cold and rain of much of the year so far. Temperatures crept up as high as 12 c in the sunshine today. The water level has dropped a little to 0.8 metres on the gauge. Davey Elliott had a beautiful fresh sea liced fish off the tide from the old Sea Pool this morning on a Willie Gunn. There was a fish lost yesterday and reports of running fish seen this afternoon in the Blackwater. Last Thursday John O’Neill had a cracking 10.5 lbs fish from the Meadow on a self tied Drowes Sunset. The weather outlook is for mainly dry conditions until Tuesday so the water level should continue to drop slowly.
