Drowes Salmon Fishery Manager Shane Gallagher reports:

27/05/2013: The spring and now summer weather remains unpredictable. The past week has seen everything from spells of warm sunshine to hailstone showers. The fishing also has had little discernible pattern. The week got off to a good start with 4 springers and a grilse on Monday. Conditions over the weekend were good, with a full moon on Saturday, but only 2 fish were reported on Saturday and one on Sunday, despite plenty of rods out.

The grilse started to arrive in numbers last year on the 8th of June following a rise in water levels. It will be interesting to see what the coming week has in store both on the weather and fishing front.
