Lindsey Clarke reports from the RIVER DROWES – Tuesday 18th to Sunday 24th February 2013.
The week was dry for a change and the river fell to more desirable levels over the week. At present the gauge is reading just under 6 giving lovely conditions for all methods. The fishery was busier this week with good numbers rods in attendance (for the time of the year). There were only 2 salmon recorded for the week to date however. On Thursday, Joe Broderick recorded a 9lb salmon caught on a Rapala lure from Peter’s High Bank and on Sunday, Eoin McManus accounted for an 8lb salmon caught on a spinner from the Mill Pool. There are upcoming spring tides this week and hopefully this will equate to good numbers of springers entering the fishery.
