4 specimen blues got so far and it being so early in the big game season I’m sure there are many more to come. Biggest fish so far was this fine 130 lb specimen blue shark. It was the fight of a lifetime for our Russian visiting friends.
It’s been a long time since a fish emptied an Everol 6/0 and with only maybe 20 wraps left on the spool we finally began to control the fish and start to gather a bit of line A very hard take and a very fast run to the bottom for a minute I thought it had to be something else !!!!
Shark fishing on Kiwi Girl will continue through September and October but we are starting to venture a little further out hoping for signs of the mighty bluefin tuna. The Gear is all set and this week should see our first bluefin trip.
