John Devereux skipper of the Celtic Lady II reports on recent fishing from Kilmore Quay. John informs us that fishing was great for the Master Angler Boat competition over the last weekend with a multitude of species taken. One very notable catch taken recently was a fabulous 67lb female tope caught in the sound on 23 August by Maria Corrigan from Blackwater. The fish was caught at high water using a full mackerel bait and it took 20 minutes to land her onto Celtic Lady II. The weather conditions were very good on the day.
