Paul Harris reports reports from the Beara Peninsula and Dromagowlane House: :

Karl and his 9 year old son were over for their first visit to the Beara and Alex had two complaints – his arm was hurting from landing the fish and he did not want to go home!

During their stay Alex caught conger to 16lbs, pollack to 6lbs, wrasse to 3lbs and huss to 6lbs. Father Karl was on hand of course to assist in the landing of the bigger fish and even had chance to land a fair few specimens himself but the week really belonged to Alex who took 21 pollack on his last days fishing and has promised to return (with Dad) as soon as possible.

At the present time fishing is very good with huss to 13lbs, thornback rays to 12lbs, pollack to 8lbs all being reported.

As we have a few people fishing for bass at the moment we have had reports of fish to 8lbs mainly being taken on shallow divers with a few on poppers.

Plenty of mackerel in the Bay so no shortage of bait.
