It was one of those days for Collie Ennis, his first Tope ever and it was a specimen. Measuring in at 163cm long this is the second longest specimen Tope on-board Lisin this year. Collie was wrecked after a good 20 minute battle, but he won in the end, the Tope was landed, measured, photographed and tagged, then released in good health. This was one Tope of over 10 landed that day with a further 7 or 8 Bull Huss and some fine Grey Gurnards.

The numbers are certainly there now in pack Tope, with the last 3 trips producing 15, 10 and more than 10 tope. Each week seems to throw up a specimen too with 2 in the last 2 weeks. Bull Huss are coming regular with some over the double figure weight, and slack water produces some fine Grey Gurnards with a few in the 1lb to 1.25lb weight. A few Mackerel have showed up in the last 2 weeks, making some good bait and some good crack inshore.

Smooth Hound are still about and a very useful target when the tides are hard or weather excludes the offshore marks. There are still a few specimens among them but not in the numbers were used to.
