The Pairs competition has a guaranteed prize fund of €30,000 sponsored by Lakelands & Inland Waterways. The winning pair will each additionally receive a DAIWA ‘Made in the UK’ 13’ Tournament Long Distance feeder rod and a Caldia 4000 reel with Mag Sealed valued at €1800.
The fishing venues will be moving slightly this year to highlight the angling quality in Ireland’s Lakelands. The buzzing lakeland town of Carrick-on-Shannon will be the main hub with the fishing locations around the towns & villages of Leitrim and Cavan. There will also be a small section in County Fermanagh. The competition venues will not be revealed til closer to the event as the organisers track the results throughout the season, playing their cards close to their chest to prevent any local or visiting anglers getting a bit of practice in before the September event. With Inland Fisheries Ireland’s recent development work to support ‘parking at your peg’ venues such as Lake Garadice and Lough Allen can be expected.
Irelands Lakelands & Inland Waterways are pleased to continue to support this prestigious competition during 2013 and are delighted with the level of interest it generated nationally & internationally during its inaugural year. Through  its continued involvement, the partners in the Lakelands and Inland Waterways initiative (Waterways Ireland  (@waterwaysirelan) and Fáilte Ireland(@failte_ireland) are delighted to see Ireland’s north west reinstated as the  premier destination for fishing, and the Lakelands and Inland Waterways region of Ireland again at the top of  everyone’s wish list of places to visit and fish! Support from Inland Fisheries Ireland (@anglingupdate) and DCAL  Inland Fisheries is in place again for the ‘no dip, no draw’ element of the event and the stewarding in many of the  locations.
An Individuals match will also run inside the Pairs with €8,000 in sponsorship in tackle prizes from DAIWA.
