A small group of anglers fished the last cast of the competitive fly fishing season on O’Flynn on Sunday 8th Sept. Once again a lot of the smaller fish were caught and released which once again illustrates the folly of putting them into the system something which will have to be discussed in the future.
Winners of the Heaviest fish challenge were as follows,
1st place Fish 1-lb 11.2 oz Junior Angler Gary Madden Castlerea.
2-nd place Fish 1-lb 09.2 oz Gerry Madden Ballinsloe.
3-rd place Fish 1-lb 08.8 oz. Mark Uniacke Loughrea.
Thanks to IFI for releasing the boats to us, and for their cooperation throughout the year it is much appreciated.
