Sean Carty of Carty’s Land and Sea Sports in Bundoran, Co. Donegal updates us on the fishing in the north of the country:
The shore fishing in Donegal bay this week was fairly good with reports in from a few outings . Anglers fishing on Mermaids Cove on Tuesday had some good sea trout up to 2.5 lb , flounder and small turbot , all on mackeral strips . We had a couple of reports in on Saturday from marks on the northern side of the bay . One group reported Dabs , flounder and sea scorpion and the other group fishing on Saturday night including myself caught 2 different species of ray , conger , 3 bearded rockling , dabs and flounder , again all on mackeral strips . Sunday a couple of anglers fished on Bundoran and had a great result incl lots of seatrout , some of which were at least 50cm , flounder up to 39cm and a nice thornback ray !
