At last we had some decent water clarity, and with the full moon tidal cycle, with water temp 13c, combined with plenty of bait fish around the bass wouldn’t be going too far. Last Saturday afternoon was a great session in term’s of number’s, no fish over 60cm, but between 2 angler’s 29 bass were met + released over a 3 hour session, and most on surface lure’s !! Sammy’s + spook’s got smashed time + time again, but it didn’t matter what was threw out, it got nailed !!
Another session and the clumsy diving and squabbling of herring gull’s gave away the position of the easy picking’s of sprat near the surface, and sure enough straight away we met some plump bass on weedless shad set up’s, bass are now in peak condition now, and top fighter’s. Hopefully we’ll be meeting some bigger fish over the next few week’s. There’s still plenty of sport to be had, you just have to know where and when, the age old question…… I’ve taken some booking’s for 2014 over the last couple week’s, but there’s still plenty of fishing left in 2013 !!
