Kit Dunne of Wicklow Boat Charters  gives an excellent and informative interview to Paddy Keogh of Ireland Fishing Diaries. Just back from the World championships in Weymouth where the Irish team came third, Kit gives great advice on the fish which is dear to his heart – tope.  With over 30 years experience under his belt and not showing any of it !!  Kit tells us how the east coast has a well earned reputation for great tope.  This is Wicklow Boat charters stomping ground.  the crew know the lay of the land and where the best marks are better than anyone else.

Tope fishing generally starts in May and in late Summer the larger females come inshore in pup.  Kit goes on to explain when to fish, tools, traces, baits, bites and takes.  With great tips as to how to keep a sent trail active, bait and how to be successful with large tope.
