Kenny Sloan reports on the pike fishing around Foxford in Co. Mayo…
Jean-Louis Coupe who was fishing for pike in the Foxford region last month with Guide Kenny Sloan decided to return with his friends to try for one of the bigger Mayo Pike.
They fished for 4 days in 4 different lakes in the area and accounted for 21 pike, the biggest being 91cm, 90cm, 90cm and 88 cm, all on lures.
The conditions were not the best, with 2 days flat calm, and the other 2 days very strong wind and rain from the North and South East.
Also the lakes were flooded, some out into the fields – not the best for fishing. But the conditions did not stop a few fish from feeding.
