Mike Flanagan reports that pleasure anglers had some super fish from Derravaragh in recent days…
Things were a bit slow last week and the pike were reluctant to take the bait, but Stan Ryan had a beauty trolling smelt along with J.J. Walsh. Smelt is a Sea fish and very popular with pike anglers, and are available in most well stocked Angling Centers.
Lakepoint Angler Alan O’Keeffe was out trolling with pals Dave walker of Dublin, and Coole angler Ian O’Keeffe. The deadly trio were fishing for pike, and Alan latched onto a lovely trout trolling a Copper Toby Lure.
The lake is quite low at the moment, and is crystal clear. Worth fishing in the coming days.
