Patrick Delapp caught a fine salmon at the Screebe Fishery in Connemara on 23 May. The water was very high and the huge fish, which weighed in at 22.1lb, put up a great fight.
There have been 4 salmon caught since then between 7 and 3 pounds.
The river has dropped back now and the salmon have moved up into the lake again. It could be a good year ahead…
