There were some good water conditions this week on the Owenea with good water levels over the first 3 days of the week. From Thursday onwards however, the river dropped to low levels. The gauge average for the week read 0.20 metres. The fishery was not particularly busy with 34 visiting rods fishing for the week. There were a few salmon recorded at the start of the week. On Monday, Hugh Frazer reported a 4½lb grilse caught from beat 2 on the fly. Jim McLean accounted for a 9lb salmon caught on a spinner from beat 8.
