Billy Downes reports on some of the Catches on the Laune in the last week…

As of Sunday 8th June the water is at a beautiful 2 feet 8 inches on the gauge at Johnston’s and running clear. It may still be rising a bit and fishing is never good in rising water – today’s excuse. There were a few fish caught during the past week and some good sea trout were also landed. This fresh water gives us ideal water for the week. Will there be matching fishing that is the question.

Eileen Richards had a lovely fish of 7 lbs at the Rock Pool on the worm on Wednesday evening. Patrick Richard opened his salmon account with a beauty of 11lbs at Paul Connor’s.
