Lindsey Clarke reports from the RIVER DROWES – Monday 31st March to Sunday 6th April 2014.

The Drowes had fair water levels once again this week. There was heavy rain during the middle of the week but this did not raise the river too much. There were a number of salmon caught during the week and given the levels, we would have expected more to be caught. Maybe the east winds and cool conditions affected the mood of the salmon? On Tuesday, P. McGowan recorded a salmon caught on prawn from The Washstones and K. McGowan also reported a salmon caught on prawn from The Washstones. On Wednesday, Julian Ciconte logged a salmon caught on prawn from The Grazings. On Wednesday, Marty O’Hara recorded a 10lb salmon caught on a Yellow Belly Devon Minnow from The Corry.
