05/06/2014: There are plenty of sea trout running and they are being caught on the lakes and in the river. For two or three nights when the river was low we had some great night fishing also Our biggest trout by night was 3 1/2 lbs but trout up to 5 lbs have been seen travelling up the river. Heavy rain forecast for Friday so from Saturday evening onwards the fishing should be excellent.

There are approximately five miles of fly fishing along the main part of the Owenmore River in Kerry, with 33 named pools and an additional 180 acres of lake fishing in this Kerry beauty spot. The salmon, grilse and sea trout begin to run in April. The runs continue through spring and summer into early October.
