Ian Powell reports from Blackwater Lodge on the Munster Blackwater where 3 salmon were caught before lunch yesterday…
14/04 We already have 3 fish reported by 13.00 today – one each from three of the upper beats. This is already the Best Day of this Season so far!
Declan Burke took his First Ever springer – a 12 pounder on fly from Woodstream. Ronan Brennan had his first a fly he had tied himself with a 9 pounder from Bridgetown and Daniel Kolomanski had a 6 pounder from Killavullen on spinner.
Conditions are absolutely perfect with the height now good for fly on almost all beats. The water temperature is at 49ºF or 9.5ºC – and the clarity is about 5 feet.
