Having had the boat survey finish it was time for Hamish to get out on the water and do some fishing…
After working with surveyors for the past while it was back to business hunting the deep water at this time of year.
Two skate were caught, one of which has been tagged before (tag no.1282). I don;t think it was tagged recently either – the reason I say this is that I had to scrape the barnacles from the tag to reveal the tag number.
Mackerel are still offshore in the middle of the channel and have yet to venture into the bays. I think this is going to be another bad year for them because of what’s happening up north.
