NCFFI - Junior Championship Newry2015

Home Internationals

This October will see the re-instated Coarse Angling Home International played out in Northern Ireland. It is some years since this competition of the four home nations has taken place and the managers have chosen the Newry Canal as the venue for the top competing teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

A new format will be introduced giving the less experienced angler the opportunity to compete alongside World & European Champions.  Under new rules the teams of seven will consist of 2 x current internationals, 2 x new anglers or U25’s and 3 x others. The competitors will arrive on 21st October for practice ahead of the two day competition taking place on the 23rd & 24th.  With top internationals such as Will Raison and Alan Scotthorne on Team England this event is sure to provide spectator value to the area.

The NCFFI continue to work with the council to further enhance the newly opened O’Rourkes Coalyard section of the canal to support the event leading the organisation along with the Newry Coarse Fishing Club, Newry, Mourne & Down District Council and the Loughs Agency.
