Paul Waghorne, www.lanesboroughangling.ie, reports that there are a few nice pike about at Lanesborough as the shoals of roach start to move into the area…
The Pike were very active on Friday (10/04), probably following the shoals from the lake and Michael Bierne lost a very big fish that was estimated to be well over 20lbs. Luckily, later in the day he was rewarded with a fine looking 18lb fish, which took a roach deadbait.

On Saturday Micahel had two more pike of about 15lbs (97cm) and 7lbs on deadbaits. It occurred to me that it was also my maggots that caught his Roach he used as bait for the 18lb Pike yesterday! Roscommon angler Tomasz had 8 Pike whilst plugging, the best was 93cm.
It was colder on Sunday and yesterday (Monday 14/04) a largish pike, estimated at around 17lb, was caught mid afternoon by Blaine Carberry, and later Aiden had one of about 5lbs.
