Kevin Lyons owner of Melview Fishing Lodge reports on the pike fishing this week:
Jos and son Sen along with friends Flipkensn Trvyen and Fvo Pier from Belgium were here in Ireland once again for their annual Pike fishing trip, stay at Melview Fishing Lodge in Longford. Kevin said many Pike were caught up to 87cm but it was young Sen that took the biggest fish of the week at 107 cm, sorry no good pictures of the bigger fish or the others due one of them falling in ( no names mentioned ) and the camera happened to go with him but all was ok. Most fish were taken on hard lures with a few caught on shads, great time had and look forward to seeing you all next year.
Jean – Baptiste who is only 15 years old made the trip from France on his own for his first ever Pike fishing trip in Ireland, Melview Fishing Lodge was his base for the week and he was guided for the week by Kevin. What a great week it was for him, Kevin said we fished three different venues and caught good fish at all of them. , he caught 48 fish up to 85 cm but lost several big fish of a metre +. He also manage two cracking Perch on small lures, he said he enjoyed his trip very much and I’m sure we will be seeing him back in Ireland again soon. Thanks J .
