Frank Maunsell from the Owenmore Fishery reports:

13/08: We had great fishing during the wet weather on both the river and lakes. We had a good run of grilse and we had salmon caught up to 12 lbs. The lakes fished well also. We have more juniors in the system than we have had ever before and it is not uncommon to have 20 of them a day in the lakes.

The nights are cold for this time of year with temperatures dropping to as low as 5 and 6 degrees with the result that the night fishing is shorter than usual. Sometimes the rise only lasts for about 10 mins. The good news is that there is more rain forecast for the middle of next week with maybe a light fall over the week end.
