Frank Maunsell from the Owenmore Fishery reports:
The water level dropped from Thursday to Saturday resulting in excellent night fishing. Two men lost fish that snapped 6 lb breaking strain . We had south easterly wind on the lakes but on Sunday we had south westerly and there was over 30 fish caught in the two lakes. We had a man from the West of Ireland with his two young sons and he said he never experienced anything like it anywhere. We are so lucky we do not have a fish farm in the area. Heavy rain until midday today and with high tides there will still be plenty of fresh fish running. All we need now is wind from the south west.
