By the 5th of July the Drowes was at low summer levels reading 0.39m. However, there was decent rainfall since then and the river began to slowly rise again – reading 0.42m by the 12th July. Not particularly good levels for the 3 weeks but the river did fish well however due to the continuation of the good grilse run and there was an average of about 30 salmon caught each week. A party of Spanish Rods staying at the Estate accommodations for a fortnight reported 41 salmon (mainly grilse) caught during their stay.
