Jim Clohessy tells us that Cork Small Boat anglers are looking forward to a break in the windy weather…
Small boat anglers are getting the best of action in Cork Harbour. During the recent settled weather local guide Richie Ryan had superb sport – “The average fish may be smaller than previous years but the action is brilliant. Light tackle fishing with soft lures is producing better results than bait. It is a superb way of fishing”.

Jim Clohessy of TopFisher.eu has been getting in on the action too. “This sort of fishing really break up the winter and leads us nicely into the spring. At the moment there seems to be no limit to the amount of codling that are holding on marks around the harbour. Soft lures like the Illex Nitro Shad are proving popular as well as Nitro Jerk Slims as well. Really, anything attached to a jighead and put into the action area will trigger a bite.” Jim has loads more advice on catching winter cod and other tips too at TopFisher.eu
