Siegy Graber, skipper of Sioux out of Valentia Island, reports on last week’s charter boat fishing…
24th – 30th May 2015: Two groups from Germany went fishing with us this week. They caught 192 pollack, 8 cod, 87 coalfish, 1 ling, 2 pouting, 1 red gurnard, 5 ballan wrasse, 4 conger, 1 bullhuss and many mackerels and sandeels.

The week started well with plenty of pollack and a few cod on the 24th. The following day was wet and windy and saw more pollack and loads of mackerel come to the boat.

The 26th was a whole new day, blue skies and lots of sunshine. the fishing was good enough too. It didn’t last unfortunately and the 27th was very rough.

The 28th saw us target conger eels and some good fish were landed. The 29th was great, better weather, loads of fish and happy anglers. As we all know over the weekend the weather turned and it was storms from Sunday.
