Angling guide and Fishery manager Shane Gallagher reports on how the river Drowes is looking for the weekend:
The water level has dropped to below 0.8 metres on the gauge for the first time this season and is now at 0.752 metres, a good spring height for the fly. Fishing remains very quiet with just one fish lost in the past week. Temperatures yesterday and today have risen to 8c and it feels noticeably milder but the water temperature is still cold at just 4.96c.
The forecast is for continued dry, settled weather up to the middle of next week.
