Bright sunshine, high temperatures, clear water and low water levels have all provided challenges for anglers during the recent spell of good weather. Peter Cunningham has been guiding some French clients for pike over the last few days in the north east. On one occasion the lure being fished was hammered by what was thought to be a small pike but when the fish was landed it turned out to be a fantastic 43cm perch. The fish was unhooked and returned safely to the water.
