Reporting from our Limerick office, Ken O’Neill tell us that pike angling is going well on most of the East Clare lakes at the moment. As well as the local anglers there has has been a lot of Tourist angling in the are over the past week.
Small Pike are generally being caught in the east Clare Lakes, however, there was a 77cm pike caught on Saturday which was carefully released – before the camera was sorted out!
Just like on Lough Derg, the dead baits, such as mackerel, and a mix of hard and soft lures are all proving successful. Angling guides Pierre Monjarret and Paul Bourke are getting some great 1m plus fish recently and they expect the fishing to really take off once the water warms up a little more.
